Privacy Policy

Rational Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Photo Recovery: Deleted Photos mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information the App Accesses

Photos and Videos. The App may request permission to access photos and videos stored on your Android device. This access is used only to provide features such as:

• Scanning accessible photos and videos.
• Displaying media previews.
• Checking supported Recently Deleted or Trash media.
• Selecting media for recovery or backup.
• Saving recovered copies.
• Viewing recovered files.
• Protecting selected photos or videos.
• Managing your selected recovery folder.

Depending on your Android version, you may choose to provide access to all supported media or only selected photos and videos. The App only accesses media that Android permissions and system APIs allow it to access.

Recovery Folder. If you select a custom Recovery Folder, the App may store the folder permission or URI locally on your device so recovered files can continue to be saved to the selected location.

Photo Protection. If you use Photo Protection, the App creates backup copies of photos or videos that you explicitly choose to protect. These copies are used so you can restore them later if needed.

2. Local Media Processing

Photo scanning, previewing, recovery, and protection operations are designed to occur locally on your device. We do not intentionally upload your personal photos or videos to Rational Studio servers for recovery or scanning.

Your photos and videos are not sold by Rational Studio. Recovered and protected files remain on your device or in a storage location selected by you.

3. Deleted Photo Recovery Limitations

The App uses Android-supported storage and media APIs. Files that have already been permanently removed, overwritten, or are no longer accessible through Android system APIs may not be recoverable.

4. Permissions

Depending on your device and Android version, the App may request permissions required to access:

• Images.
• Videos.
• Selected photos and videos.
• Storage locations selected through Android's system folder picker.

You may deny or modify permissions at any time through your Android device settings. Some features may not function correctly if required permissions are denied.

5. Limited Photo Access

On supported Android versions, you may provide access only to selected photos and videos. If limited access is selected, the App will only be able to scan and display media that Android makes available to the App.

6. Advertising

The App may display advertisements using Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK. Advertising formats may include App Open Ads, Banner Ads, and Interstitial Ads.

Google and its advertising services may automatically process information for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service functionality. This information may include:

• IP address.
• Device or account identifiers.
• Advertising identifiers where available.
• App and ad interactions.
• Diagnostic and performance information.
• Approximate location inferred from information such as IP address.

Information processed by Google is handled according to Google's own privacy policies and advertising policies.

7. Advertising Consent

Where required by applicable law, the App may use Google's User Messaging Platform or similar consent tools to request advertising and privacy choices. Depending on your region and choices, advertisements may be personalized, non-personalized, or otherwise limited.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services including Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google Play Services, and Google User Messaging Platform where implemented. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.

9. Analytics and Crash Reporting

If analytics or crash-reporting services are added to the App, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the information processed by those services. We do not represent such services as active unless they are actually implemented.

10. Data Storage and Retention

Media selected for recovery or protection is stored locally on your device or in a storage destination selected by you. Recovery-folder preferences, theme preferences, onboarding status, and similar app settings may also be stored locally on your device.

You can remove locally stored information by deleting recovered or protected files, clearing the App's data through Android settings, or uninstalling the App. Files saved to shared storage or a custom folder may remain after uninstalling and may need to be deleted separately.

11. Data Sharing

Rational Studio does not intentionally sell your personal photos or videos and does not intentionally share the contents of your photos or videos with advertisers. Third-party advertising SDKs may independently collect and share technical, advertising, diagnostic, and interaction information as described in their own policies.

12. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App and rely on Android's permission system and platform security mechanisms. However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Your Choices

• Grant or deny photo and video permissions.
• Select limited photo access when supported.
• Change permissions through Android settings.
• Select or change the Recovery Folder.
• Remove protected or recovered files.
• Change available advertising consent preferences.
• Clear App data or uninstall the App.

14. Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically designed or directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information directly to Rational Studio.

15. International Users

The App may be available in multiple countries. Third-party providers such as Google may process information in countries other than the country in which you live, according to their policies and applicable laws.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when App features, permissions, third-party SDKs, legal requirements, or our data-handling practices change. The Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made.
